WHo here is worried about identity theft? I shred any mail that has my name and address on it. Especially the credit card offers. Rather be safe then sorry. Im sure my recycle guy sees all the paper I recycle and thinks Im CRAZY! Although I am...I recycle all paper!

Yea, working for a bank for 12 years (which was about 8 years too long) I've seen some pretty ugly cases of identity theft. Shredding old credit card bills, credit offers and anything that has an account number on it is definitely wise in this day and age. Identity theft is a friggin NIGHTMARE for the victim... For VA drivers, it's alsol a good idea to get a license number, rather than your ssn on your driver's license. I think DMV is doing it automatically now, but make sure, in case your wallet ever gets lost or stolen, and don't carry your social security card in your wallet, either.

I absolutely shred everything I get that has any account numbers, etc on it...Or at least rip it up into tiny bits (helps with stress reduction after a long day ) The only thing I don't shred that I wish I could would be those pesky bills that seem to come in every day!!!!

I love it when they ask you out loud for you SSN number o other personal information with a line of people behind you. I usually say. "Got a pen and paper?" and get a weird look.

Anything that has my name and address on it gets shredded.

I love my shredder. My dream shredder is a GSA approved model for destruction of classified material.

Shred all you want, if someone wants your identity bad enough they will get it; You are only making it about 5% more difficult for that to happen. Dumpster diving isn't that large of a method of obtaining personal information nowadays.

And to answer your question, no, I don't shred it.
