Wholesale Alcohol - May 1, 2012, 04:33 PM

Where is the best option (in your experience) for purchasing alcohol in a LARGE quantity (for 100+ people)?

Obviously in VA the stores are run by the state, thus not having the best pricing. Does anyone know if any of the Costco's/BJ's in VA are able to sell liquor?

Any suggested locations in DC, MD, WV?

BJ's in Delaware is already an option...

I've seen the best prices with Corridor in Laurel, which is about the size of a warehouse and has probably no less than 1,000 kinds of beer and 7,000 varities of wine and liquor.
(Decent selection of cigars too!)
You can spend hours in the place...

And Calvert Woodley in DC. They are smaller than Corridor but more adept at stocking rare and vintage varities. Call ahead with a specific order and they can fulfill it. Even if you're looking for a case of '45 Rothschild or Mondovi Opus-1

Dems be my suggestions. Good luck.

Morris Miller Liquors on GA Ave at the MD border in DC

Dixie Liquors as you enter Georgetown

Barrel House Liquor on 14th St.

Those might work

Do you want the best price on cheap stuff or good stuff? I've found there can be a difference when you spread as far as Deleware and West Virginia.

Kirkland vodka is supposedly almost spot on the same vodka as grey goose. I do know that in the Leesburg, VA costco they don't sell liquor though.

corridor is where i got my wedding stuff. they have almost everything, and can/will special order anything they don't have. they offer discounts on bulk wine, and allow you to return the excess. I think they're owned by Total Wine and those stores are in VA. Not sure how the VA vs. MD pricing works. But for our wedding, Corridor was the cheapest. Partially due to the pricing and partially due to their selection (since you're able to source cheap good wine).

Best price on good stuff. Only considering Delaware because it's tax free.
