that is crazy if they really develop those. By July you could be walking around the grocery store and one of those would walk right past you picking up groceries for it's owner. DAMN

Favorite thing on my bike: the miles I put on it

Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Robotics":

1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2) A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Asimov's books are great reading.

"I think that any rules strict enough to be effective would also produce a device whose ability was clearly inferior to the unfettered versions (and so human competition would favor the development of the those more dangerous models). Still, the Asimov dream is a wonderful one: "

the rest of that ----here---> http://www.got-one.com/post_human.htm

I'd would make mine do the robot dance.

It's not much of a logical leap to envision a scenario where a person disables a robot's Safe Laws (Asimov's 3 Laws). It could be military, terrorists, or a teen with disposable time. Their intentions in every case are clear, as are their implications.

Asimov's dream must be realized, otherwise human beings become meat for the machine's whim.
