Who's done jury duty before? I don't wanna go to work tomorrow

So I have to call into Loudoun County tonight to see if my juror group is needed. I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. Someone got the 411 on jury duty so if they ask me details on Tuesday, I'll have a good story.

Just tell them you reported for Jury Duty but upon the discovery of the swastikas tattooed all over your body and your blatant racism you were released with not enough time left to come in to work. BAM! Free day off of work!

If you have to go in the lawyers have chances to ask all the possible jurors questions. They want to find out if you may be biased. Usually if you answer yes to any of their questions they will let you go. You can tell what they are looking for by what the case has to do with and the type of questions they are asking. I had to go in for a federal trial. It involved real estate investing. One of the first questions they asked was if anyone had real estate licenses. I said yes and bam I was free to go.

so u want to do jury duty and skip work or u want to get out of jury duty so u dont have to skip work? I think the responses may be a little confused... from my interpretation your looking for an accurate lie to tell as if you really served in jury duty correct?

Uhhh, yeah. I'm looking for someone who's had experience with jury duty because I want to take the day off tomorrow and need to be able to sound experienced in the event I'm quizzed on Tuesday. :)

Edit - The above is a true statement unless I actually get called to be a juror. Then.....I think I'm gonna be disappointed that I'm not in the office.

Negative, I'm not hit for days for jury duty. It's paid leave.

Does your work not ask for paperwork to show you were called for jury duty? My old job we had to turn it in. My current job on the other hand we don't do things all official like.

If you don't need paperwork then just figure out what court house you were called to. Before you even have to show up they mail you a form that tells you to call this number I think 24-48 hrs in advance to see if your number is one that has to show up. Come up with a case that you could explain why you would have been weeded out during the juror selection process. For instance something that your education, job, or hobbies would make you familiar with. I can't remember how much they tell you they pay per day. It is not much. I am sure you can find that on line. I had to be there at 8. It was a lot of sitting around. Had to identify myself with two ids. Then eventually we were called into the courtroom. It was the prosecuting attorneys, the defending attorneys and the defendant. The attorneys from both sides each have a certain number of people they can dismiss. I think the pool of people they had to choose from was about 40 people. Each side asks a series of questions. They just tell you to raise your hand if your answer is yes. They get down to 12 jurors and a couple stand bys. They never asked for any verification to prove what I said was true.

Hope that helps.
