The goalie interference call against Croatia in front of the Brazil goal was probably more of a 50/50 call. Could have gone either way, but would have been a good spot for a make up call from the bad call above. Unless the officials wanted to make sure Brazil won of course.

This is big time sports. It is all about money. The tournament will not make as much money if Brazil loses early. The US sports news stations will lose viewers if they take a solid stance either way, so they stay quiet.
You're right, second goal. My memory is shot... lotsa damage done in high school... Which part was a bad call? The penalty shot or the yellow card? The card may have been slightly excessive but the penalty shot was absolutely correct.
I usually try to watch the games on the Spanish speaking channels, even though I don't understand all of what they're saying. They just bring more enthusiasm and it makes it more exciting. It helps me work on my Spanish a little, too.

The yellow card and penalty shot were bad calls in my estimation (and apparently in the opinion of the ESPN on-line announcers during the match). After the match was over, the announcer says "OK, we will have another look at the controversial play." Then they show the goals being scored instead. The announcer says something like "we will show that replay of the foul leading to the penalty shot during Sport Center later on EPSN."

Someone in ESPN management saw that talking about it as a bad call was not a good business decision and put a lid on it.

I think they're wrong. I think the Scottish announcer threw "controversial" around pretty loosely and that's why it hasn't been brought back up. There was nothing controversial about it. Clearly the Croatian was holding the Brazilian back by his shoulder. Based on where it happened, it was a penalty shot.

I did see a bad offsides call made the Colombian officials today and the first Mexican goal was taken away. That made me a sad panda.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Brazilian favela and homeless camps riots.
That should be more interesting than any game.

Allez les Bleus !

Though I'll probably be rooting for Argentina long after Les Bleus take the flight home.
