WTF is goin on...criminals suck! - July 30, 2007, 11:37 AM

ok i been thru some stuff in my life, but nothing like this before...
in the last 3 weeks, not so good things have been happening. I'm going to keep these stories short and to the point.

3 weeks ago, my parents who live in a nice quiet part of centreville, there was an attempted break-in to their house about 3am on a friday nite. i'll skip the details, but the invidual that tried to break in fled when he saw my dad and younger brother armed with a shotgun and a gun in hand. he was caught 30 mins later by ffx county.

now this past weekend...my sister in law was almost a victim of a carjacking. This happened no more than 100 yards of their residence just off algonkian parkway. While sitting at a traffic light about 530am at the light, someone came up the passenger side trying to get the door open. then proceeded to the drivers side. Luckily she floored it, got to a safe area, and called 911. That person and someone else were caught within 20-30 mins of the phone call to 911.

Both of these events happened in nice quiet neighborhoods.....im use to seeing this type of stuff on the news, but it really doesnt affect you to much till it hits close to home....

I guess its just a reality check...shit can happen anywhere, anytime.

ps...everyone is ok. except for the guys in jail.

Glad they're alright Norm, but that does suck.

Are Centerville and Sterling the relative hotspots for crime lately? Lots of thefts. I didn't know anything about this area when I moved up here, and initially we had decided on Sterling - until I took a look at a newspaper and noticed the majority of the crime entries were in Sterling & Centerville.

I have lived in Countryside since 91 and really haven't had many problems till this year. My neighbors car was stolen, 1 broken into and vandalism going on bad! Gangs are getting into this area and the cops really don't seam like they care unless it is a shooting or fight these days. My window was shot out and the cop was like too bad but I really don't have the time for this. I found out on my own who did it and got them to pay for it. They really need street lights around here now.

Just be happy the suspects were caught... to be honest I'm VERY suprised anyone was caught by the police dept.

Sorry to hear about this though, the world is going to hell with a pretty red bow.

Wonderful addition to the XD isn't it? I borrowed a friend's to test out on my XD-40 and loved it. It's going to be a x-mas present to myself this year
