Hey everyone.

I live up the street from Velocity Five. It's located in the shopping center at the intersection of Lee Highway and Gallows Rd. I've been a few times and recently spoke to one of the owners. I have known him for some time now and I mentioned that our group is always looking for locations to host meets. He said that he would be more then happy to work with DCSportbikes to line up something and honor some sort of discounts or happy hour type specials. Would anyone here be willing to assist or take on lining up an event? I'm happy to make the introductions or whatever it takes. I just don't want to take liberties here. Would anyone be interested in having a meet night there?

This is the place a few others and myself went to watch a Clemson game and vowed never to return.

The service was horrible (waiter spoke no English and was rude when he got the order wrong), the place had a weird vibe with the rude bouncer/doorman, and there was a dress code for a strip mall bar.

Good luck trying to follow a dress code on a bike night.

I was there with Adrian, and witnessed all of this. In their defense they has just opened. So maybe they have panned some things out. I'd be willing to give it another go... but I'm not wearing slacks and a collared shirt to a strip mall in Falls Church.

I've been there twice, and I hardly doubt there will be a third time.

The first time was a Saturday night a few months ago, when I had just moved into that area. I showed up on my bike in t-shirt and jeans. There was a ZX-14 in the parking lot so I assumed biker scum were allowed. I was told t-shirts weren't part of the dress code. I turned around in pursuit of seedier joints (which I subsequently found).

I returned again the night before last. I walked right in (no bouncers this time) and sat down at the bar. I sat there for about 5 minutes and walked right out. There were two bartenders and maybe 10 patrons (5 at the bar). I'm pretty sure they could have mustered a 'Be with you in a moment', but instead they seemed lost in their own little worlds.

yeah we went to this place to watch the Clemson opening round of the NCAA basketball tournament last season after I received an email saying the owner was a Clemson alumni and he wanted to get clemson people in there. I brought a bunch of people up there and the bouncer told me "He would let me in this time but no T-Shirts". Um, I was wearing a Clemson T-Shirt to support my team and the owner's team, after getting an email REQUESTING me to show up wearing Clemson shit. Obviously he didn't get the memo. Once we got in, it was fine, but still... And the service was not so good. I doubt a TWT would work here since they are pretty strict about the dress code still apparently.

Well I suspect the experiences you have all had are reason enough not to press the issue. I thought the place was chill and had a view of the lot that was well lit. I agree the driving in the lot is kinda crazy at times but nothing I haven't seen else where. The food that I did try was great and I would eat there again. They added a couple of new bartenders (women) that were both personable and attentive. I recognize that they were at some point enforcing some dress code but I went in my sweaty tennis gear and didn't get any grief .. and this was prior to my friend knowing I was there. As it stands the summer is gone and we do have plenty of places to go. I'll ask about his expectations regarding the code and if I can get a good response I'll bump the thread. Thanks for all the feedback.
