Yes I know its a Hyundai... What color should I paint my calipers? - April 10, 2012, 02:01 PM

So I have finally decided to start doing some work to my car's looks. I have bought taillight tint, new grille, black headlights, chrome door handles and now I am wanting to paint the calipers.

I am looking at getting the G2 Caliper Painting Kit. It looks to be the best all around and I haven't seen anything but positive reviews. I am thinking red, my brother is thinking black. What you think?

**EDIT**
Can anyone photoshop my car with the red calipers and with the black calipers?

Unless they're Brembos that came red, don't paint them that. Stick with black.

Black or a gloss grey.... something comparable to what they are now... the charcoal grey looks good as well....

Played around a little and found this little fake online photoshop. So I put something together.

With all due respect, and please do not take offense to this as you have not executed this particular modification yet, but unless you're in your late-teens or early 20's painting them Red would signal to me that you are a complete douche poser with delusions of grandeur who refuses to be honest with their current station in life.

With Fire Engine Red calipers, what would you be calling attention to? All the "performance" your Sonata has and the "huge" stopping power of your 14" steel brake discs?

And this is not a detraction of your car. My friend has a Cayenne and spent $600 getting his calipers powdercoated yellow to give the appearance that he had the CCB package and I felt the same way

That said, paint them a matte black or body color matching grey. They'll go nicely with the lightly tinted tailights and be quite tasteful.

That is my opinion on the matter, YMMV.

It's a slippery slope man. Like heroin. You may tell yourself today that it's just calipers and wheels. Before you know it though, you will be looking at one of these:

I hear ya man. I don't take offense. If I was to do that why would I ask on a public board. At the end of the day it all comes down to my decision.

I knew I liked you for a reason.

Seriously, if you're going to pour money into your car, go for performance over looks.
