That same break happened to my right hand. I now have half a knuckle there and my little finger sticks out. I didn't use a cast or splint cause I need my hand to work. Lesson learned the hard way!

that happened to me a couple of months ago i got pissed off and punched a wall and hit a stud i only took 2-3 weeks to heal completly and i didnt have a full splint like you i just taped it to my ring finger. mine wasnt that far down it was right underneath the knuckle. it did hurt like a bitch though. needless to say i think twice when i get really mad and just take a deep breath and just say its not worth it. LOL hope you heal up quick dude!

when i had my motorcycle accident 3 years ago, i was told that i had broken that bone (prior to the accident). I didn't believe them until they showed me the X-ray.

probably drunken confrontation back in the day... just another reason why i don't drink anymore

it's a typical boxer's fracture... look at the 5th metacarpal... thats the bone under the pinky finger... see the crack about half way down going across the bone.

Nice work! A few years back I sent the 3rd & 4th metacarpals back into the 3rd and 4th carpals and faked everything up. Doctor related to what happens when two trains running down the same track finally meet. He said the breaks were the least of my problems and it was the ligament damage I had to worry about. Physical therapy after I got the cast off was a bitch and to this day the hand gets sore everynow and then.

Wow, that sucks. I don't think its that bad. I had full movement and could grip as hard as before the brake. I knew it was broke, but not that bad. I was almost going to just splint it myself and let it heal. Then I got nervous it wouldn't heal right. After looking at the x-rays I felt better... it is a very simple brake and its lined up perfect. Hope its npt too f'd up after getting cast off.

Yeah, my break was a mess. After I got the cast off and started therapy is when it got really fun. I think my grip strength was down to something like 24lbs! Glad to see yours wasnt too bad, but wearing a cast is never fun. Good luck on a speedy recovery!

Im sure somebody took a picture of em.
To be honest, at this point I rather take the black eye over the broken hand.
but hey... could have been worse.
