Your motorcycle forum history - July 19, 2013, 07:11 AM

Where did you start?

Back in 1998-99 Cycleworld had an AOL chat room I used to participate in. It was an eclectic mix of Harley guys, Euro/BMW riders, and a few kids with sportbikes. Some time in mid 99 Cycleworld started their own forum and it's still going (though it's not nearly as active as this place) I pop in from time to time and see some of the same people I chatted with in the beginning in the AOL chat room.

Then I slid over to sportbikes.net because it was more focused on the bikes I was riding at the time. It was partnered with Tricktape, and online retailer.
Then SBN and Tricktape split and Cycleforums was formed where I spend a fair amount of time...DCsportbikes.net was formed right about the same time by rixride. After some pretty goofy music and a silly flash intro....it's still going strong and linking old and new riders in the area.

I've gone on some great rides in the past with people I've met from here and have made some great "in person" friends.

Oh, and a buddy and I created the YZF600R site and forum back in late 99/early 00
