Youtube problem - February 20, 2011, 07:01 PM

I'm having trouble playing youtube on both my pc and my wife's pc. When you go to a video on youtube the progress bar will start moving but there will be no picture. This happens on both our Firefox and Chrome browsers.
The weird thing is that if we use the pop out player it will work, on both browsers. I am pretty sure that both of our browser's are up to date driver-wise, but I'm going to re-install everything now.
Just wondering if anybody else is having this problem. It might be a new driver issue.

By the way both machines are Windows 7.

Any tips are welcome.

thanks

I don't think it is you. YouTube is downloading slow and acting jittery on my iPad, iPhone and Mac. I have fios and speedtest says I'm getting 15 down and up.

Do a Google search for "Verizon throttling YouTube."

For all their speed, they sure are doing a lot to slow it down. Remember when they were preventing embedded videos from playing at all. You had to go directly to the YouTube link.

It's YouTube stillie. ISPs don't have the capability to selectively throttle bandwith for a specific site. </sarcasm>
