Never saw the movie, but I just checked out the trailer... the style does look very similar. However, this one was done on a $300 budget.

Yeeah, I seriously doubt that, even if the article says that.

The CG in that has to be hundreds of hours of work, if not more.

Maybe he spent 300$ hiring people to run down stairs while he filmed them and for the fireworks for the one explosion he had.

Agreed...That's a ton of PS3's to piggyback to do that CG....

Still pretty amazing when you think about how few people were involved...even though it's a 4 minute clip. Did you see the other video I posted about a month ago?

The funny thing - this is precisely the way District 9 got discovered and started out. I think it was shot for nothing as a few minute short film 8 years ago.

And $30MM is peanut money to a big studio. That's about what Tyler Perry spends to make his craptastic "Angry Black Woman / Big Black Mama" movies.

“Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a Prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires”.

- Nicolo Machiavelli 1469-1527

Pretty awesome but the $300 budget isn't true. The equiptment used for this was wayyy more than that.
