06 zx6r died on me :( - October 27, 2010, 03:40 PM

i start my bike up (it was fine) stoped by 7/11 (like a min ride) and when i start it back up it made a wierd engine noise. like its about to die. last like 15 seconds and died on me... gas tank is full. could this be a spark plug issue?

You live more in five minutes on a bike like this going flat out than some people live in a lifetime.

Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on?

don't spray starter fluid. open your gas tank let some air in. riding for a min will not charge your bike. Maybe is your 2 brothers exhaust, i make a trade with you i bet i can get your bike start.

we got it started, it has a misfire, probably a bad plug or a coil on one cylinder.

I had a similar issue .. kawi tanks seem to intake water from somewhere .. if a droplet of water in sitting on one of the spark plugs it will sound like a misfire .. clean the tank out .. water is heavier than gas so it is at the bottom of the tank and is a pita to get it out .. clean the plugs and while ur at it check the coils for the required voltage

Start the bike and see if you can get it to run for about 5-10 seconds. Touch the header pipes and find the one that's cold. That way you narrow down which cylinder. Try moving a switching two coil packs to see if it follows the pack.
