Exclamation Ants?! - May 22, 2009, 07:38 AM

So I ride into work this morning and once I get to work, I notice dozens and dozens of ants crawling around my swing arm and frame!

...the ride must have shook them up out of their roost because they were not around when I started the bike up

I figure the ants took residence since the bike has been sitting outside in a parking lot for the past few weeks. I am going to wash it when I get home and hopefully that will get rid of all the ants. Any other suggestions?

Anyone else ever have an ant problem?????

Hehe! I don't know why this is funny, but it is...

Never had ants on the bike problem, but my kitchen is another story.

You're gonna have to pull stuff until you find where they are setting up camp.

Never had ants, but a family of mice set up camp under my passenger seat in the trunk a few years back over the winter, chewed up all of my shop cloths and a set of glove liners to make their nest.

I had spiders inside O2 parts of my car motor once. I had the CEL keep coming on and eventually they found this massive spider nest inside one of the O2 valves on my maxima.

Ants tend to burrow and obviously your bike isnt made of dirt, so you might have something on the bike that has drawn them to the bike.... did you by chance mistake your chain lube for Syrup?

I took a closer look and I think they are coming out of one of the holes in the frame near the rearsets. Well first thing's first I am going to do a thorough clean after work and see if I can drown them out.... mice sound like a PITA too.
