any welders on here? - August 27, 2009, 08:04 PM

Need 1 subframe boxes welded. Small crack in the rise before the end of the box on the top. Box is made of "pot metal" which I am told is like aluminum, but way crappier. Going on racebike, does not need to be a work of art.

I am in Herndon. Can deliver tomorrow. I need them back asap. Will $, just need to know how much. Last time a guy in Winchester did them for $40. Don't want to/don't have time to drive to Winchester.

Thanks

I'm not set up for aluminum. Otherwise it would be done for $0.

Nice work Nate! I take it you have a TIG and know how to use it. Chris hit him up he is right down the street from my house.

Yup I do not do Alum yet. And for you weld junkies I have 3 TIG welders. One portable, one old one and one newer Miller Syncrowave! Dam thing cost over 10 grand! Glad I did not pay for it! I might have a slightly older tig up for sale maybe? Depends on if I talk work into letting me set it up for Aluminuim.

You may want to check out Switchback in Dulles, off 606. They have a pretty good fabrication guy by the name of Hendrick.

They welded up a friend's SV650 frame. Check'em out.
