Anyone in the Falls Church area want to help with service? - July 28, 2009, 03:56 PM

I just moved here about 2 months ago now, have had my bike for about a month and a half. Am planning on going on a fairly long trip this weekend and am trying to get some things done before I go. I ride a 03 R6, I have the new coils that I need to throw in, wanted to change the oil/plugs and filters. Any pointers, or anyone want to help? Also was hoping to change the oil/filters/plugs on the girlfriends SV as well. Plenty of good beer will be provided if anyone could help out.

Or if someone could just point me in the direction of some how to's with pictures that would also help.

And lastly, what other maintenance should be done before a longer trip? ~1200 miles round trip?

For the SV have you checked out SV rider?? Oil isnt too bad nor is the filter if you have the tool. You can borrow mine if you dont have one. Never done the plugs but would be interested to see it done. BTW I picked up the chain lube at Advance Auto Parts. They have a small motorcycle section. Also make sure your chain isnt hanging off by like 4 inches. GL.

My new favorite chain lube can be bought at Home Depot, Lowes, and most parts stores, Dupont Teflon http://www2.dupont.com/Consumer_Lubr...s/dryfilm.html

Any and all of these are good.
