Anyone want to install projector bulbs on 2000 R6 for cash? - August 14, 2012, 12:23 PM

I am considering getting a set of HID Projector bulbs for my 2000 R6, and I am not really comfortable installing them. I have tried to find more info for installing, but there is not a lot of info on the 1st gen R6. I'm okay with the electrical part, but if you want to do that portion as well then thats fine too.

These are the lights I was considering:

**EDIT: I am actually going to get a much nicer set from RetroFit thanks to input from you all**

Sportbike Stage III Kit - Complete Retrofit Kits from The Retrofit Source Inc

Let me know if you can do it, or if you know anyone that can do it... And PM for a cost estimate...

Thanks

Garbage lights.

They look disgusting visually and I bet they throw a horrible beam.

If you want projectors then do a proper retrofit, don't waste your money installing ubercheap chinese projectors that will look worse than your stock lights.

Also, ANGEL EYES LOOK GAY.

Ditto.

Look into the FX-R or TSX projectors from theretrofitsource.com

Those projectors look like they are not worth a shit either. The Retrofit Source does OEM and modified OEM projectors. I guarantee the light output will be five times better than any 160 dollar projector/angel eye/HID combo. Expect to pay ~150-250 for the projectors alone to do a nice retrofit.

Thanks for the input fellas... I never have been dead set on these lights, so I can always check something else out. However, I just want to know if anyone can install them, before I buy them. And no, I'm not "comfortable baking my headlights in the oven and shit"

Then your only option is to have a professional source do it for you...and I bet the whole experience will end up a hair under $1000.

The retrofit source is the best place to buy the projectors, finding a reputable installer is something completely different.

Moral of the story, if you're not comfortable doing it yourself or shelling out $1000 then move along to the next mod.

haha, or you could just throw a hid kit in without the projectors, flame on people. My fire suit is ready. I really don't drive at night ever so its never outrageously blinding people.

I bought a ddm 35w h4 hi/low 6k and its worked great.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Dis........

And what the other dude said. Email retrofit source...think I got quoted $250 for my car headlights with FX-Rs (plus the cost of FX-Rs, ballasts and shrouds). Check out the Morimotos to. They're tinier, less expensive and from what I've seen badass little lights. You don't need huge projectors for your motorized cycle.

Don't junk out on your headlights. Those ones you posted are probably halogen projectors, not good for HIDs. Those vendors won't tell you that and they probably get boners watching fast and furious.

Dark, thanks for your input bro, but I guess you missed the part of my thread that said that I am looking for someone on the forum that is comfortable doing this mod for me, and getting paid for their time. Obviously, I am going to ask for an estimate up front.
