Best places to get performance parts for your bikes.... - August 31, 2012, 07:27 PM

So I've been rebuilding the SV I bought earlier this summer. Basically replacing bearings, cleaning it up, etc. It's my winter engine+ project.

So I'm thinking about upgrading the engine a bit. Or a lot. Just depends on what I find that tweaks my fancy. To that end I need a good line on:

1. Performance parts - pistons, cams, valves

2. Machine work - Think new sleeves for the cylinders, some basic machining of that cylinder.

3. Additional tidbit parts. Banjo bolts for Brembo master cylinder, maybe a penske shock, etc.

I could go through a shop, but I haven't been dealing with just one for a long time. I realized this when I couldn't find an easy source for 30 wt belray fork oil. I need to upgrade my parts sources for street/track vehicles.

So what ya got?

Thanks!

Mud

I've been doing all of my own work lately if you hadn't noticed.

When I started racing I didn't know how to change a wheel. Yeah, total street newb.

For parts, I haven't found anyone who has lower prices than riders discount. I haven't bought from any other vendor in 3 years.

RockyMountainATV.com seems to have a wider range of products. I'd have to compare prices. But I've had great service from them for years. RidersDiscount.com is not about the bike, it's about the gear for the rider.

RD can get you pretty much anything. You can't go by their website for inventory or pricing. Best is to give TJ a call. I don't have his number on hand, but when I get a chance, I'll post it up in here.

TJ, just call RD and ask for TJ, he may not be working but can give you a call when he gets on. Tell him you are from .net, and tell him you have been told he is the bee's knees. Out of the blue TJ treated me better then any shop or group I have frequented for years. If you are unhappy with TJ I will back a guarantee.
