Buying Tires on eBay and Online stores - July 27, 2007, 07:29 AM

How dangerous do you think it would be? Found some good deals here and there, and was hoping that I could pull it off, but decided that I would just buy new. My lil brother has bought oon ebay, used, for his track bike and street, used usually, and swears its better. How would you go about looking for the right used tire then?

Now, buying new from stores, I have had plenty of suggestions of what tires, but would like to find the right stores, so I open the floor to any suggestions.

PM me if your in H'Town, MD.

I ordered my DCIIIs (190/55) from www.motorcycletoystore.com so they get another vote from me.

I also ordered a set of Avon Azaros (or something like that) for a neighbor.

Patrick is the owner (in the process of selling it though) and is a good guy to work with.

Hard to beat trackside pricing/convenience but if I have to mail order I use www.motorcycletoystore.com as well, very quick shipping/good service/best prices I've found for DCIIIs.

I'd say become NESBA member and buy tires at the track. I get Pirelli tires CHEAP... it's glorious.

Well, I see a lot of advice on where to get tires cheap, but not one mention of this....you have to be careful when buying tires on line, mainly from the superstores and wharehouses. The main reason the tires are so low and it's a great deal is b/c they have or are close to reaching their shelf life and are close to expiring. Ask any tech or someone that really knows about the tires good. I'm not saying that you have to fear for the tire blowing out everytime or anything like that, but the one time it does happen, don't say you wern't warned.
