Cracked rotor - August 5, 2009, 08:16 PM

My right front rotor on my 03 R1 has a scratch in it, seems like its deep enough to be bracked almost... can I replace just one rotor? Do I have to make sure its the front right rotor is does that matter? My bike started pulling pretty hard to the right today when I grabbed the brake it was weird almost threw me off, I'm hoping its the rotor because it looks pretty bad.

You can replace just one. I'd look closely at the other one, things often happen in pairs.

Is that most likely what caused my to drag my bike to the right like that?

Lots of bikes have only one front brake rotor and they don't pull to the side when stopping. I can't see how a bad rotor would cause what you are describing.

No, a bike won't pull because of a rotor.

Pretty sure I have my stock rotors from my 03 if you want to replace both. Let me know if you're interested.
