my second gear is gone, were is a good place that does good work for a good price i think i need to replace the transmission??? or is it even worth fixing my bike is a 06 636 with about 12k

IMHO i would take it to FFX Cycles, but there are other local shops in the area.....they do great work, i would have them take a look at it and give you a estimate and then go from there on wether you want to get it fixed or not...hope that helps

Just take it to any shop and get an estimate. Does the bike shift into second and just pop out?

You will need a shift fork and a few gears and gaskets as long as the rest of the tranny checks out. The most exspensive part will be the labor. I am actually in the middle of this exact same job right now. The engine splits horizontally so the top end doesn't have to be torn down to gain access to the tranny. I think we were charging 800-900 in labor.

Damn @ $900 labor just get a low miles engine and swap it yourself! That is, if you don't want to split it open...
