Flat spot in middle of rear tire - November 1, 2007, 09:29 AM

I took two long trips on a concrete highway now I noticed the center of tire has a flat spot obout two inches wide. Miles on tires from 4500 to 5500 now. Is this tire now junk and should be replaced or will it round off once I return to normal riding? Still have pretty good tread left.

It will get better if you start leaning. Get a few good rides in and it will be good.

5500 miles is pretty good.. I've yet to see that on any of mine. Check your tire pressure, especially if you're doing a lot of commuting. bump it up a bit for the straight trips.
