GSXR: High idle, sudden loss of power and sluggishness... - March 2, 2012, 10:57 AM

2004 gsxr 600:

I was riding around town yesterday. After the bike was warmed up, I noticed it was still idling pretty high at about 2000, or even 2250 - or nearly twice the normal idle.

Then, almost towards the end of my ride, I felt a sudden loss of power. It felt as if I had a flat tire. Just very, very sluggish. At the same time, the bike continued to idle at the same high rate. Giving the bike more throttle only gave it a little bit more power...

I will be going out to poke around now, but I wanted to maybe get a quick opinion on what I should look out for/pay attention to/etc.

No FI light? Try putting it in dealer mode and see what happens.

GSXR "dealer Mode" and Fault Codes. Please Sticky this Thread - PNW Riders

I used a paper clip back in the day.

When was the last time you rode it? Fresh gas and good battery? Did you work on it or change anything?
