HELP!- Angel "Halo" lights - February 20, 2009, 10:01 PM

'08 R1

got a set of angel eyes a year ago, never installed them because I don't want to screw up. I have seen the tutorial videos and instructions but I'd rather get some face to face guidance... anyone??

Thanks for looking!

It's not hard, if you follow directions you'll be fine, it's fairly straightforward, the hardest part is pulling the light apart after baking, because it;s still pretty tight and hot to hold... The ones I did on an r6 looked great, but after a few months the LED's on them started burning out, making them look kinda dumb, so unless you'll be comfortable doign it again in a few months, make sure you got a good quality set.

^I've seen this before too. Considering they're all after market halo's, you can definitely expect for a few LED's to start blowing out and it'll just look stupid.

Hey Manimal,

Just wanted to start of by saying that there is a difference between Angel Eyes and Halo's (and devil eyes and assassin eyes and on and on and on)

Angel Eyes are lit by 2 LED's (generally) that butt up against the edge of circular plastic piece that has notches all around.

Halos are gas filled.

My opinion and from what I've seen is that both are good, but the LED life on the angel eyes isn't always the best. Haven't seen a problem with the Halos and they generally tend to show up A LOT better.

One of my best friends in the area just happens to be a mechanic/electrician. We took apart my R6 spare headlights in preparation for the upcoming season to get some work done! The other picture is from his bike, blacklight halo (but can be done with any color).

I'm not trying to talk you out of the Angel Eyes by any means.. just explaining the difference and the expectations.. he can install those though.

Let me know when you want his info
