Help converting 03 636 to GP shift - July 12, 2009, 08:47 PM

Ok all - Need some help. Switching a kawi to GP shift isnt as easy as flipping the knuckle around...

So, I think I just need to cut this cover to make it work. BUT, will that kill my speeedometer? Is there any other option? Linkeage?

you might have to either notch the cover as shown or you can look for a knuckle with a larger offset. on the old 900 series cbr's you needed the linkage off of a blackbird. simple swap once you knew what you needed. might try checking some of the kawi forums before hacking the cover.

I don't think I had a cover on my race bike. If I remember right I just yanked it off.

See the round black thing on the cover with the wire coming out of it?
That's the speed sensor magnet.
As long as that is left in place your speedo will work.
