Help needed welding a broken bracket!! - April 24, 2012, 02:29 PM

I need some help as soon as possible welding the bracket that holds my gas tank to the subframe on my R6. It was broken in a lowside last year and I JB welded it but it only lasted so long. The simple bracket is $38!!! From BikeBandit so I'm going to get it welded locally instead.

Can anyone on here help me out? I can pay in beer. It would be a 5 min wled job for someone with the equipment. I am going to the track in the second week of May so I need to get this done asap. It is along the side of the bracket going with the bend. Very simlpe.

Thank you so much for the help in advance!

Just buy a new. It is made of pot metal and will just break again around the weld. Being cheap sometimes does not pay off.

Ahhh, wasn't aware that it wouldn't hold up even if welded due to the type of metal. I've sourced a good condition bracket from a friend parting out his R6.

Thanks for the advice.
