Horn broken? - August 21, 2012, 09:09 AM

Posting this for a friend while at work, I'll have him make an account tonight.Anyway, Bike is a 2007 CBR600rr, the horn doesn't make any noise. The turn signals and the high and low beams both work. Any ideas before he takes it to the shop?

Check connections at the horn. Make sure the ground is good.

Grab a volt meter or test light and see if there is voltage getting to the horn when the button is pressed.

Where you go from there depends on what you find.

Ive checked the fuses and they seem to be operable. I will check the connections in the morning. From what I could tell, everything seems to be connected. Thanks for the responses everyone!

Uh....try pulling the connections, checking for rust, etc.

Then hook bare wires up to a battery (Or the bike battery if you have a few feet of wire). See if the horn works directly off the battery.

Just a matter of eliminating options.

Have you checked the electrical diagrams for the bike? My guess is that it's the button on the bars that is the issue.
