Let's talk about OIL! - June 16, 2008, 08:30 PM

I am doing my oil change tomorrow and am debating what oil to go with. I am the second owner of my bike. The previous owner ran Mobil 1 synthetic, so I've been using that brand exclusively. However, I prefer Motul and am considering switching. I have never tried Repsol, that being the only oil I'd consider other than the aforementioned brands.

I can't think of anyway this would negatively affect my bike's longevity/performance/etc..

Anyone got some Facts or Informed Opinions?

No one can answer whether or not it will be detrimental to switch brands of oil?

fack yo choices!

I run BG 10w40 Semi-Synthetic Oil. I really like it, plus the price is great. So do a few AMA Superbike teams. It's all about what you believe works. Let me know if you want to try any.

Biased are we?

I might be interested in trying it, BUT I need oil tomorrow, before noon. So I'm planning to go by MHK or MFI and get oil/filter.

I use Mobil1 15-50 simply because it's the convient one for me to use.

All of them work pretty dang good when changed regularly.

There's a thread on this topic in the archive that was just created about 2 or 3 months ago. In that I posted a link to a pretty lengthy article on oil by Sport Rider. I think some others may have posted links to info as well.

How's my posting? Please direct all concerns and inquiries to DCSBN's chief content manager, Hollywood, via PM.
