Question Minor cosmetic fix.. - March 5, 2009, 10:41 AM

Just trying to get the R6 looking a little nicer on the cheap.. If anyone could answer the following questions that would be awesome.

1.) If I sand the grooves out of the rashed area is it going to look like crap if it's a little flat where it should be curved..? Or do I need find something to build it back up with and reshape it..?

2.) Is it going to look like crap anyway if I just try to match the paint and touch up that one spot versus repainting the whole tail..?

Pull it off and take it to dirtyR6, I bought a bunch of bondo and it's sitting at his place, I'm sure he can help you.

Bondo huh? That helps, thanks. I kinda like to try my hand at things like this, doesn't seem too hard I just don't want to completely half ass it. And no, it's my bike.

Thanks for the offer Dirty but I don't need to bother ya.

Spray paint..? I don't need to get Yamaha paint and a clear coat?

Sure did.. I was a little curious about what grit to use when sanding it but didn't want to ask. I'm going to try using some Bondo to get the shape back into it.. and now I know that if I use spray paint, well I won't be the only one, lol. That's pretty much all I needed to know.

hopefully you're not actually using bondo on plastics, its too brittle and will crack and separate if the plastics are hit or flex
