My Brother needs help - Pentagon City - April 2, 2010, 03:22 AM

The skinny:
- We installed a LeoVince full system on his motorcycle (SV650 - my "B" bike for this season) right before I left.
- Installed everything loose but we couldn't seem to get it to fit up right, specifically: Lower Fairing touches piping by brakeside rearset so melting issues, he says it's rubbing against a hanger on the frame on the same side where that fairing used to mount, and now that bolt with the 6 safetywire holes drilled in it fell out.. I snugged it but it probably flexed out through heat cycles.
- I'm in Bujumbura Burundi, and won't be back in the States until the first of May.

He's super frustrated, and he's not really comfortable around bikes, so I'm looking for someone who is okay fabbing a bracket out of flat metal and fixing shit. Anyone in the area that could help him make a braket for the fairing, put a short stainless bolt plug in for him (might have to find one at home depot), and just look to the tightening and maintainence of the new system? It's going to have to be snugged up a bit. I tried to shift the exhaust around so it would fit more precisely but this seemed to be the best way to hang it.... maybe someone with more experience can fit the exhaust better.

If you do this I will owe you. I have a truck, race tools, a trailer, lots of spares, a shit load of cheap parts especially for gixxers and SVs. I will hook you up. All my people are out by Ashburn, and that's a haul for him.

Thanks.
B

This is one of those aftermarket lowers for the SV right? They never seem to fit up right. We need to get some pipe wrap and possibly fab up a bracket. It's amazing how much heat that wrap can knock down. I had melting issues with my 00 750 and it knocked that shit right out.

I'll send this over to unemployed Marc and see if he can help out.

I got a truck and ramp if you need help with a tow. Yeah I read you will ride so probably won't need a tow but if that changes let me know. I'm not to far away (Falls Church.) Otherwise good luck getting the issue sorted out.
