My suspension Link snapped today - July 26, 2010, 10:47 PM

I was heading east on lee hwy near Falls Church/Arlington border about 25-35 mph next thing i see is they are scraped off and ready to repave the road. i hit the one initial bump and hit two manholes, after that next thing i know my motorcycle completely dropped to the ground. 10 mins later another biker from .net went down front of my eyes. this is messed up i am contacting the road construction company and Falls Church city and hopefully i can resolve this without going through insurance. they had their signs posted at the very end where no body has no reaction time.

tomorrow i am gonna check with Colmens for the suspension link. but i would like to know if any of you guys have one for a 05 R6 that i can buy. just cant miss any riding days waiting for the parts to order from Colmens(if they don't have it in stock).

You better be looking for more damage. If the hit was hard enough to bust the linkage then I would be surprised if other parts were not damaged as well.

You live more in five minutes on a bike like this going flat out than some people live in a lifetime.

I would get the rear wheel off the ground as well and make sure the rim isn't bent and that the tire wasn't damaged.

i dont know how u guys went down or broke shit, went through there last night with the GF and both of us had plenty of time to see it and slow down to about 35-40mph. No issues.

And the city wont do jack shit, or wont do jack for a while. Ive had to deal with the city of Chicago a couple years ago when a pothole bent my car rim and destroyed my tire. It took almost 2 years to get anything back from them. Falls Church may be different but i doubt it.

we went through around 9pm, sucks that ppl went down. I wasn't trying to insult anyone, I was just saying it wasnt anything we havent seen before. When Im on my bike Im focused at whats going on and notice things like a torn up road right away.

Come to think of it I even had my dark visor in and we were just fine.
