Exclamation Need Help Installing HID Low Beam Kit - May 12, 2011, 07:18 PM

I have several DIYs on this (from gixxer.com) but can't seem to figure it out. Is anyone local to Arlington, Orange line, that can come over and help me out? Probably something very simple. I'll supply the beers.

The bulb is not fitting in the headlamp thingy...

PM me please for my address.

Thanks!

What year bike? I installed a low beam kit on my 08 600. I followed the DIY from gixxer.com also.

I assume you got the correct size? You might want to post links to the bulbs/size you got. I have done it on mine/08 R1. I believe they were H7...can't remember.

Check the box and with your make/model/year combination you can check DDM/Krypton sites to verify.

Where did you get it from?

I have done it on my K7 multiple times. It's pretty straight forward. If it doesn't fit most likely you got the wrong bulb.

i got it from ddmtuning. its the 35w 6k h7 hid low beam kit. i believe i figured it out but want to get some advice. i worked over 5 hrs on this shit (was able to install pilot lights which took 40 mins lol, fat fingers and kept coming unplugged) and am about half way done...ugh lol

i was wondering if you guys put the rubber grommet piece that holds the 2 or 4 wires outside of the rubber dust cover or in front of. it appears it would be a tighter fit to the outside way but would have an issue getting it through the dust cover hole. if you look at this link - How to instal HID's in K7, LOTS OF PICS : Suzuki GSX-R Motorcycle Forums: Gixxer.com - and look at post # 2, picture # 5, you'll see what i mean. i just want it to be completely dry and moisture free in there. since i pulled out the black and blue/red wires out of the rubber piece i might try and buy some type of waterproof filler to fill them.

so i ended up using the plastic piece that comes with the kit and then closing the clamp. i was trying hard not to break anything so was extra careful.

here are more pics if post # 7, 2nd paragraph doesnt make sense. inside or out, if you do out then you have to try and fit the bulb through the dust cover hole (actually im pretty sure this doesnt fit as i tried it last night)/or somehow fit the rubber grommet through the dust cover hole so its on the outside. (first picture is outside, second picture is inside and how i have it currently). im still not sure which fits the tightest in terms of blocking the most moisture, but i do know that if i keep it the way i have it, i need to fill in the spaces with something.

i also found out that the clear rubber o-ring that i threw out, i needed to use it to connect the bulb to the actual headlight fitting. will try and locate in trash and reinstall.

cant believe i worked 6 hrs on this last night and am only half way finished. guess im learning a lot though..

lol whelp i just picked the trash and got the plastic o-ring, it doesnt fit in the low beam headlight housing so there ya go, for my k6 600 the o-ring that i received with my ddm kit does not fit. i just put the bulb and plastic adapter piece and then clamped. this is the same o-ring that was inside the plastic tube surrounding the bulb for shipping...

btw david...if they need adjusting ill do that, plus you wont have to worry about it cause you'll be behind me anyways also, ill be riding more by myself than in groups so its for my own safety. caamannnn mann
