NoVA radiator repair? - November 18, 2012, 12:20 PM

Got a weeping pin hole like in the radiator of a KTM. Anyone have something similar repaired in NoVA and care to share info?

- Throttle's on the right. So are the brakes. Good luck.

How'd you pin point the leak? It's small enough that it's just spreading out into the fins before it really presents. I know about where it is, but that's within about 1/2". Rather not just blob it in and hope.

For pin holes, I've used this stuff with success. It didn't take much at all, an ounce at most maybe.
Liquid Radiator Stop Leak - 10 Oz. (p/n C16) | Products | Bar's Leaks & Rislone - Premium Automotive Chemicals

A bigger hole, like from a rock puncture, is when I would use JB weld or quiksteel.

I don't have any tips on pin pointing a pin hole size leak. Is it spraying out or just flowing down the radiator?

Yeah I saw exactly where mine was cuz it was squirting out. If you're not sure where it's coming from, I'd try the stuff Travis suggested. I tried that on mine 3-4 times and it lasted for about 5 miles then gave out but I might have had a larger puncture than you do.

Well, got mine in the car and headed to a shop after work. There's a place on Braddock road that I chatted with. Will post the results and costs.
