Plastic welding kits? - May 31, 2012, 12:33 PM

I'm looking into purchasing a platic welding kit. Anyone have recomendatiosn on good ones or ones to avoid? My plan is to build some plastic boxes to replace the fairings on my Versys where they mount to the sides of the gas tank.

Thanks,
Hugh

I've always used a soldering iron and some spare fairing material. It's worked like a charm so farm.

I won't be building the boxes out of ABS I don't think. I want to use a material similar to the plastic gas tanks on dirt bikes. Something which will bend and not shatter. I expect to dump the bike with some regularity.
