Pulling trans apart - June 15, 2009, 09:50 AM

Anyone got a 27mm socket and/or some free time this week/weekend to come over and help? Need the socket first, because I gotta see if its just the shift forks, or the shift shaft, or both that need replacing. Free booze/food/soda for those that help. Thanks

Qik

They do not have one at the one around here, just a 32mm, which I already have.

I have a 27mm right here if you need it. I'm in Falls Church. Doubt I'll have time to come way out there to dick with the bike though.

shoot me a PM

I have a 27mm socket....I believe. I will confirm when I get home today.

It's a 12pt. Sears didn't have a 6pt.

Dodge, what say you on the matter of 6pt versus 12pt? 6pt fits the nut more snuggly?....no homo.

Anyways, I'd like to see what's invovled with pulling apart a tranny, being that I was thinking I would've had to do the same on my bike.

How far is warrenton?

Should not be a 20mm. What nut are you trying to loosen? Clutch hub basket?

Yup. Maybe I read the manual wrong. Seems bigger than 20. Gonna stick with my original guess of 27 or 30 haha
