Question about PC3 maps - September 7, 2007, 04:29 PM

Would it hurt to use an 07 model year map for an 03? I have been looking all over for a map for my setup, and the only one listed is for an 07 sv1000 and I have an 03. Will it damage anything if i use that map?

Bring me the bike with a power commander on it and a pipe and I'll do a custom map for you. Fack downloading someone elses map and hoping it works. Every bike runs different man. Come get it done right.

I know, I just dont have the money for a custom tune right now. It just seems lean around 2.5-5k rpms.

It's gonna be a lot cheaper then you might think and very much worth it.

If you're low on funds but have some time why not play with adding and taking away fuel at those specific rpms and see what it does for you? There will be a little trial and error but if you have the time then it just may be worth it.

I took the map that was on it. (Looks like he may have gotten it from someone else?) It was setup for a 3/4 Yosh pipe and an air filter with the snorkel removed. I then took a look at the PC3 website and found the map for a full m4 pipe with stock air filter for an 07 bike.. I took the laptop and my pc and put them side by side and studied the numbers. I made my own map for now that seems to be working sooo much better than what it was before. It doesnt seem to be lacking at low rpms anymore. I still want a dyno tune though.
