Rejetting the carbs... - August 19, 2010, 06:30 PM

when you throw on a new exhaust on an 03 636.

does this sounds right??

you gotta rejet the carbs when you change the air and/or pipes. Just poppin on new pipes will just end up doing bad things to the engine. A different exhaust allows a different airflow through the engine and sucks exhaust out quicker and sucks in more air. If the gas mix isn't right and there's more air than gas in the cylinder it can and will overheat and do serious damage. Rejetting the carbs adds/reduces fuel as needed.

can anyone confirm this?

First year of fi on that model. That one doesn't have a pc. Look for one cheap on ebay if you want to get into tuning it.
