Releasing clutch problems maybe... - June 10, 2008, 08:34 AM

04 R1, I am at a full stop if I start to release the clutch slowly, to cruise up a few feet, I can feel the clutch chattering. Bike has about 5000 miles. Please help me out, I don't want to end up like the guy with the Yellow R1.

Did you check the cable/lever free play? Don't hate on me for starting simple. I had the same issue and that was all it was.

Either you have too much/too little play in the clutch or your clutches are worn and need replaced.

Bring it down to me at Devil Dawg ..... we'll take care of you!!!

I'll be checking the adjustment on the engine side. I adjusted my lever side. Notice it last Saturday.

No slippage at all or anything. I've had the same thing happen to me before to my old R1's and never had a problem. Just gets annoying now. Scared and traumatized after seeing a Yellow R1 on the side of the road
