sprocket question - November 6, 2007, 10:53 AM

im switching out my sprockets but i cant get the front one off, someone told me that they come lock-tited (tit? what?) from the factory. i guess i need to use an impact wrench, to get it off? when i put the new one on should i lock-tite it on as well? these are probably all questions i should know the answers for, but the front sprocket from my ninja came off pretty easy and this one wont budge.

Yes you need an impact to do it.

Yes you need to lock tight the new one.

the bar of infinate leverage works too, I think we had to use an impact wrench on my 05 but my 01 I just breaker barred.

Oh... and take the side cover off but leave the chain on, you should break the front spocket bolt before removing anything so you have tension on it.
