Suspension on a TTR 125 - January 25, 2010, 10:11 PM

I am now the proud owner of a 2005 Yamaha TTR125!! WOOHOO!

Anyway..I dont know much about suspension on Dirtbikes but I assume its similar to streetbikes. I sit on the bike and it drops about 6 inches. So, lemme guess - I should get a spring for my weight! I need to look around for the manual for this thing. How adjustable is the factory shock?

This is my new pit bike and probably use it for Allsports..Any recommendations would be appreciated

New front and rear springs from BBR Performance (http://www.bbrmotorsports.com/Products/Products.aspx) with a slightly thicker oil can help with that problem. Easy installs on that model as well. Feel free to shop around on that site, there's a lot there that you can benefit greatly from.

You can download the service manual from the European Yamaha site. They charge for it in America. If you can't find it, I can dig around and email you a copy. PM me your email address.

That said, a carb rebuild on this bike is trivial.

I bought it that way on a crazy impulse and now have stupid money in it after it grenaded. Push start only, race fuel only, it is no pit bike. Stock is the way to go

I need to put new springs on mine this year.
http://ymenvom.nl/manuals/M1B280.PDF This should be for the manual off the EU site.

I got the BBR set up on my 06 Kaw KLX 125 front and rear springs, pipe and jet kit
that thing is so much fun.........so far, I have only blown my left ankle to pieces and broke my shin bones on it......WooHoo......I love backing that thing into a corner, well except the time I hit a huge boulder and high sided myself inducing the above damage to myself.......LOL
The springs are really nice too, I can jump that thing off anything and ride it out with out bottoming it out.............
