Tire Mounting - August 18, 2014, 03:06 PM

J&P has the Avon 240 on sale for $158 shipped. Who mounts tires in the Frederick/Hagerstown area? My rim is 7.5". Thanks

Should be able to do it at my place, but I'm in Ellicott City.

OSD have you ever mounted a tire that wide? It's a serious bitch on a tire machine. Good luck.

No I have not, nor did I consider it might be that much of a PITA. So if it is really tough on a No-Mar setup, do you spoon them on by hand?

I was going to message you but I figured it would be an insult to bring an internet tire to you guys. How the hell are they selling it so cheap? In any event I didn't buy it because I knew getting it put on would be an issue.

The tire is probably several years old.
