Exclamation Title & Registration - May 13, 2009, 01:58 AM

Hey guys I need your help ... LIKE BAD! I just bought a new (to me) bike it's an 07 750 gixxer but it has a Pennsylvania salvage title (I knew it did before I bought it) the bike has since been fixed and maryland inspected, it passed. I went to the mva and tried to get the bike registered and they said I couldn't because the person who sold it to me never registered it. (He bought it from a an insurance company, I bought it fixed from him)

I guess what I'm trying to say it was do I have to do step by step to get this thing on the road. If there's a way without shipping the bike back to him let me know. THANKS!

MVA should have explained it to you... but whoever you spoke with probably didn't know the right answer.

You can call your local police station, Maryland requires that it be inspected to make sure the bike wasn't stolen, and all of the parts are legit. You first go to MVA and apply for a certificate of salvage, then have a salvage inspection. Once it passes salvage inspection, you can apply for a MD title and have it registered for highway use.

Can't argue with that. Always gotta do your own research on what you need before you go there and waste a day for nothing...

Lol, you have to go in there confident and tell them what's what. If they're second guessing themselves and you know what you're talking about, they'll normally fold like cheap suits.
