Took the bike out of storage today - February 13, 2011, 03:25 PM

So i take the bike out of storage to move it to my place. as usual the bikes not starting so im sitting htere priming the lines. I didnt have much time to spare, so i decide to hurry it up a lil bit and start rolling on the throttle quite a bit when its just starting to burp. I know better, but i was in a hurry. So i was sporadically revving it up to around 8k for about 15 secs to hurry things up and keep it going for. It spat out black smoke puff and htats it. everything seems to be good, ride home was joyful =)

So i guess my question is, what kind of danger did i put my bike in, what could go wrong in the future due to this etc, and if theres anything that ill need to look for now...

questions like this are hard to e-diagnose because everyone's method of storage is different.

Be more clear on how you stored the bike.
1. did you leave it on a tender
2. did you start it anytime during the colder months
3. did you use Stabil
4. did you keep the tank full
5. did you store it in a climate control environment
6. did you change the oil before starting it
7. #6 would be necessary if you filled the crank case with oil during storage to prevent moisture build up

so forth and so on

Not particularly good for it but if it cranked for a bit before it fired up you had oil moving through it so I wouldn't sweat it.

I took the the Connie out for a spin down 211 and up Skyline Drive. First time out in over a month. Felt good!
