Wanted: CBR 600RR to look at :P - August 28, 2009, 10:01 AM

Here's the deal, I need to look at someone's 600RR to figure out what I need to get my '03 back up and running. I've got various plugs on the harness that I can't, for the life of me, figure out where they go or what they do.

I am still waiting for my fairings to get delivered and in the meanwhile I need to put together a list of stuff that I need.

Browsing microfiche is a PITA and I am hoping someone will help me out by letting me peak around their bike to figure out what goes where. I need to buy misc. brackets, screws, nuts, bolts, connectors, etc. and doing this via microfiche is annoying and very time consuming.

If anyone can help a brotha out I would greatly appreciate it.

If anyone has a race 600RR that the plastics can come off of easily that would be gravy too!

I bought the bike stripped and I am in the process of putting it back together. I just need to see how things are connected (electrical and physical) so I can get a better idea of what I need.

I will travel to where the bike is to make it easier.

Somehow I missed your post. I would like to take you up on the offer. I can come to your place and if you don't mind I will be taking a lot of pics.

I have a FSM for the bike now but I just need a good idea of how everything goes together and what I'm missing. I'm pretty close to being done but I need to get the cluster working (the turn signals and highbeam indicators light up but I get nothing for the speedo or tach).

I also have some connectors that I have no idea what they are supposed to connect to

That would be cool as hell! I just need to figure out what goes where and how...it's my winter project so I want to get my hands dirty but I need to know where to start.

I'll give you guys a call before I swing it by the shop.

I've got an '08 rr you can look at but not sure how much similarity there is with an '03. How much you wanna look at it? i.e. start to dissasemble my two-wheeled girlfriend will make me worry. Am in Bristow. Pretty flexible time-wise.

Right now I need to figure out the headlight harness and what goes where. Also, I need to figure out why I am getting no reading on my tach. I still have some extra connectors that I have no idea what they are supposed to connect to.

I don't know if an '08 will help since I don't know what it's supposed to look like in the first place

I also need to figure out why the fuel pump isn't priming at all. The bike cranks but there is no fuel.
