Were is it coming from? Did it start all of a sudden or does it get worse? How many miles on bike and has the cam chain tensioner been replaced? What model bike?

it's an 07 gsx-r600 with a little under 1400 miles. i've had the 600 mile service done. i noticed it a tad a while ago but have been out of town for a bit and when i rode yesterday, it was very noticeable.

it doesn't knock when idle, only when i'm on the throttle.

Does this happen only when in gear? Maybe the chain isn't tensioned properly and it's slapping against the swingarm under throttle? Either way, get that bike in to a qualified tech and bring your warranty docs.

Bring the bike down to me and I'll listen to it at no charge. Sounds like it could be a warrenty issue but I'll let you know for sure!

If it happened at idle I'd say it's a cam chain tensioner. Gixxers are notorious about dropping them.

so, the knocking occurs at idle as well. it sounds the loudest right in front of the seat, below the tank.
