When my temp hits 106 - 108 C, my speedometer reads zero. - April 28, 2011, 02:25 PM

It's crazy. I'm on a 2004 triumph daytona 600. When the temp hits 106C or so, the digital speedometer reads zero. The analog tachometer is unaffected. When I restart the bike, the problem will be gone, and if the temp drops and rises again it will often (maybe always) return to normal. What is going on? Is this just one of those "european bike" things?

Spaceballs is one dumb ass movie. I'm surprised I had to tell you that.

i had some intermittent wonkiness in my speedo from new (02 daytona 955)

dealer ecu flash (with updated tune map) fixed it.

I talked to the Frederick Triumph shop. They suggested bringing it in to have a look at any codes, which makes sense so I'll be doing that. What is an ECU flash, and is it something that any shop can do? Is it grossly expensive, and what should I be considering in terms of a tune map if it's on the table?

had mine done at pete's on a saturday. only takes a few minutes- ended up paying 1/2 hour labor, like $40 or something.

i would expect fredericktown to know and have the most up to date tune for your bike, considering equipment and mods.
