Question Would you run 2 master links on your chain? - April 3, 2012, 12:22 PM

Question for all you folks....street guys, track day sluts and racers:

Would you run a chain on your bike that had 2, rivet-style, master links? (NOT next to each other)

I've asked around already, and gotten numerous different answers from, "Yeah, I've done it millions of times!" to "Nah, I wouldn't."

This is on a DID 520 ERV3 chain that will be used in a racing/track day environment.

So what say you?

I concur. It should be just as strong as the normal links. Otherwise you wouldn't have one on there already.

Caveat: As long as the person installing the chain isn't a monkey with a wrench.

Sure, two rivet types, or clip style. You're already trusting one, why not trust two? I can't fathom why it would be a problem. it's a mental thing, the knowledge that you have a Frankenchain, that makes for a worried mind.
