1 PC for someone tall but thin - November 18, 2006, 04:30 PM

I'm trying to find a suit to wear at the track, preferably a 1 pc. The problem is, in looking at the sizing charts of most of the major brands it seems like anything with long enough sleeves/inseam is going to be too loose around the waist/chest.

For example, I'm 6'3", but I wear a 42 jacket...but on the JR chart, a 42 suit is meant for a max of 5'11". Anyone know of any brands out there that tend to run on the narrow side that I could check out? If not, any thoughts on which direction it's better to compromise in? (That is, a suit that fits my limbs properly but is lose around my torso vs. one that fits my torso well but is short in the limbs)

And yes, I know I could go for a custom suit, but I haven't found one I could afford yet Any thoughts (besides "eat more") would be appreciated.

Alpinestars seem to be cut more for the tall/thin euro riders and the tz1 I just
bought has a snug but comfortable fit chest and torso. Not sure the model number
of the next step up in Astars but it's a great fitting suit. It's $$$ but the quality shows.

Call Vanson leathers and get a custom suit made to fit perfect! I did that 13 years ago and still have it!

It will cost some money but it is worth it!

Did you ever have to use the free lifetime warranty?

Thanks all, I'll give a closer look to the Alpinestars gear. As for a custom fit suit from Vanson or others...if I try the track and enjoy it I think I'd consider making that investment at some point. Gotta get out there and check it out first, though
