Thumbs up Bedo's Leather! - April 3, 2009, 01:41 PM

Looking for input. I want to have my suit taken in around the torso. Also, skinny up the legs a little.
What did you have done, and how much?
Thanks all!
*EDIT* Props to them for another great experience!

I know several riders who have had their suit altered there (added humps on their suits, lengthen here, shorten there)... Nothing but great things said about that place. I'm gonna go there soon to get some leather work myself...

Thanks. I've seen some pix on their site of suits. I talked to them and the guy said that they use the same high tensile strength stitching that most manufacturers use. I'm going to go down there soon. I'll give a review if I get it done there.

I've heard great things about them. Almost took my suit to them but decided to try Lizzy out.

$60 an hour is the standard labor rate. I dropped off my "custom" suit that has never fit right despite exact measurements and two trips to another nameless leather shop. Steve (owner) is very knowledgeable and had several ideas about what needs to be done. He was less than complimentary about some of the stitching put in place by the other leather shop.

Should be ready for a test fit next week. I will be posting a full review of the final product.

They do great work. Coleman's a coupon if you swing through for a discount. I'm pretty sure they still do.

Ive had countless things done by bedos....every thing from small shit like making race boot strap extensions and installing zippers for 2 pieces to complete tear down and making leather pants for 6'5" person fit my 5'10" frame....count less crash repairs and the same spot i kept crashing over and over again.

Here is a custom suit that was sent back to the maker 2 times and didnt fit, so i took it to bedos, got it fitting perfect, then crashed it 2 times, ask for a cheap patch job because the money i kept spending in repair made the suit not worth it..but here I go after a fresh 3rd crash...you can see the patch work I ask for.... I ask for just chaeap band aid fix, but it lasted.

overpriced compared to lizzyleather.com

and if you want a speed hump put on, you have to provide the hump. (their words to me when I called)

Lizzy Leather provides it for you if you want her to do it. She does AWESOME work as well....kevlar stitching. My suit is customed by lizzy leather.

Bedo's does good work - well worth it.

They repaired my race leathers (wintex) twice - first high side T3 at summit and some stitches ripped on legs - after T4 crash they basically recreated right leg. But repairs from previous crash held up just fine.

Those leathers are now back up to current A* set; T4 slides are a lot to ask of any set of leathers.

True, bedos are high now...They have so much business that it takes a little longer to get stuff out, but when they say it will be done...it will be done.

For local they great.
I might get Lizy to do some things, is she in VA now or PA?

shit...maybe i should look since she is on my FB page.

Damn, I thought I changed the title. How the f%$c do you do that?!?
Anyway, Lizzy does good work no doubt. Just wanted to give props to Bedo's for another good experience and not start a new thread.
FWIW, I told him no rush and turn around was a little more than a week.

Damn it, how (or can) you change the title of the thread?
