I have a chrome German style beanie (not D.O.T. approved) that I'll wear around town. But you can get the D.O.T. one's here

A D.O.T approval on a skull cap does not mean adequate protection for your brain.

The beanies do not provide enough energy absorbing material to keep your brain from smacking your skull with sufficient velocity to kill you.

In a nutshell, in a 3' drop, beanies produce an 800g deceleration. Your brain and its' surrounding fluid can only handle 300g, so you're in a come, brain dead, or just dead.

Wear a Snell approved full face helmet.
